Gold prices, which soared to record heights previously, have now taken a downward turn. The cost of premium-quality 22 carat gold has witnessed a decline of 1,750 taka. Presently, a 22 carat gold bar is priced at 111,158 taka. This information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) on Tuesday, March 19.

BAJUS has attributed this reduction in gold prices to a decrease in the price of acid gold within the local market. The new gold prices have been carefully determined, considering the overall market dynamics, and are set to come into effect starting tomorrow.

Under the updated pricing structure, 21 carat gold will be available at 106,142 taka, 18 carat gold at 90,989 taka, and traditional gold at 75,816 taka. BAJUS had previously adjusted gold prices on March 6, marking a significant increase in the metal’s value. Notably, while gold prices have been revised, the price of silver remains unchanged.
