Second phase Upazilla Elections has been Announced by EC

The schedule for the second phase of elections in 161 upazilas has been announced

The Election Commission (EC) has unveiled the election timetable for 161 upazila parishads across the nation in the second phase. Voting in these upazilas is scheduled for May 21. This schedule was confirmed during a meeting of the election commission led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal on Monday. Following the session, EC Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam disclosed the timetable. As per the announced schedule, the deadline for nomination paper submissions in the upazilas slated for the second phase of elections is April 21, with candidate selections set for April 23. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is April 30. The election day is May 21. Across the country, elections for 481 upazila parishads will be conducted in four phases. Previously, the schedule for 152 upazila elections was announced for the first phase, with polling set to take place on May 8.
